Promoting Healing - Pre and Post Surgery

In surgery you will be cut so, preventatively avoid anything that could result in excessive bleeding. This includes aspirin, non steroidals, anti-inflammatory drugs such as Motrin and Ibuprofen. Vitamin C and Vitamin E may also prolong the bleeding time. Some of the medicines you may not be aware which can promote excessive bleeding are Alka-Seltzer® and BC Powder®, both of these contain aspirin.

Deep or prolonged anesthesia can leave the patient feeling mentally foggy for months. This can be alleviated before hand by taking Alpha Lipoic Acid three times a day for a week preceding surgery.

In the post surgical process the body sends healing growth factors to the surgical site. This includes IGF-1, IGF-2, Platelet Derived Growth Factors and most importantly Transforming Growth Factor Beta. It makes sense to prepare your body and your brain ahead of time by taking a supplement that has these, both pre and post surgically. That supplement is Telemorx®. It has all seven growth factors and will accelerate the healing, while the Memory Formula will prevent and help you with mental fogginess.

Post surgically you should follow your doctor’s orders for recovery and that will primarily depend on the type of operation you have had. For example, your post surgical course will be totally different for a breast implant vs. an appendectomy.

Be kind to your body and allow time for healing.
